The website that you are currently viewing is for my final grade in my 8th grade U.S. History class. It will be used as an online portfolio displaying everything that our class has learned through out the 2013-14 school year. I will try my best to do my teacher, Ms. Sheradee Bradfield, justice and present all of the key elements of America's history in such a manner that I will not ¨stomp on her heart.¨
To start, I would like to explain why History is studied. Us, as naive and impressionable children, tend to make bad decisions and it isn't often that we think about the repercussions of our individual actions. In History class, we learn about the mistakes that our country, as well as others, have made so that we do not make the same mistakes. I'm sure that we have all heard the same saying for most of our lives, ¨History repeats itself.¨ It seems repetitive but it is nonetheless true. If we don't learn about History then we will not know the bad things that we need to avoid so that when it is our time to run the country, we will not drive it into the ground. We also learn about the things our country has done right, so that we can try to accomplish goals like that.
